πΎ Why Spay & Neuter Matters
At Fluffy Butts Rescue, we believe every pet deserves a loving, permanent home β and one of the most important ways we can make that possible is through spaying and neutering.
π What Is Spay & Neuter?
Spay: Surgical procedure to prevent female pets from becoming pregnant.
Neuter: Surgical procedure to prevent male pets from fathering litters.
Both are safe, routine surgeries performed by licensed veterinarians.
π Why Itβs So Important
1. It Saves Lives
Every year, millions of cats and dogs enter shelters across the U.S. β and many never make it out. Spaying and neutering helps prevent unwanted litters, reducing the number of animals at risk.
2. Itβs Better for Health
Females: Prevents uterine infections and greatly reduces the risk of breast cancer.
Males: Eliminates testicular cancer and reduces prostate problems.
3. It Can Improve Behavior
Fixed pets are less likely to roam, mark territory, or show certain aggressive behaviors.
4. It Helps the Community
Preventing stray litters reduces overpopulation, wildlife impact, and strain on local shelters.
πΆ Our Policy at Fluffy Butts Rescue
All dogs and cats adopted from us are spayed or neutered before going to their new home, unless medically exempt due to age or health.
Puppies and kittens too young for surgery are adopted with a spay/neuter agreement and follow-up proof requirement.
